Houses Evacuated In Scarsdale Following Ruptured Gas Line

Several homes have been evacuated in Scarsdale due to a ruptured gas line on one of the village’s busiest roads.

Post Road is closed in both directions between Boulevard and Sprague Road due to a ruptured natural gas line that serves properties on Evon Court.

As a precautionary measure, there was a limited evacuation involving the Evon Court residences and two homes on Post Road.

Officials said that emergency personnel are on the scene directing traffic and the public has been advised to avoid the area. A specialized crew from Con Edison is undertaking repair efforts. It is unclear what caused the rupture.
